ORGANIZING A CLUB LEVEL FLY FISHING PROGRAM. 

Meeting presenter Danny Wheat, co-presenter Louis Riedesel present an overview of an educational program created by Guy Harrison of our Club and Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

The presentation will be a brief look at the slides and teaching aids used when teaching. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics such as rod and line selection, knot tying, fly tying, casting, what to pack for an outing, how to wade fish, etc.

The meeting agenda includes:  

• •  Discussion of the requirements to have a seminar.
• • The discussion includes location selection
  • Date
  • Fee determination
  • Advertising approaches
  • Club member participation required
  • Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept participation.
  • COVID 19 casts a big shadow over planning.  Also discussed will be suggested Covid avoidance protocols.

The Texas Hill Country Fly Fishers Club membership is available to fishermen (and most certainly fisherwomen) desiring to promote the sport of fly fishing and related activities such as fly tying, and rod building.
